Chicago winters drive salt brine into bare concrete. A properly primed epoxy system seals the slab so chlorides never reach the surface.
Freeze-Thaw Cycles
Unheated garages swing 80 degrees a year. We use flexible polyaspartic topcoats that move with the slab instead of chipping.
Old City Slabs
Bungalow and two-flat basements often have soft, moisture-heavy concrete. We moisture test and prime before a drop of color goes down.
