Natural Cork

Natural Cork Flooring

Natural Cork is the warmest, quietest floor in the collection. Cork bark regrows after every harvest, making it one of the few genuinely renewable flooring materials.

About Natural Cork

Harvested bark, warm underfoot, and completely renewable.

Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak without felling the tree, and the bark regenerates for the next harvest. The cellular structure makes it naturally insulating, resilient, and quiet, so rooms feel warmer and sound softer. It is available in 52 grains and tones, from fine uniform granulate to bold burl patterns, and can be finished with a hardwearing clear coat for commercial traffic.

Sustainability

Climate positive flooring

The Atelier Collection is built on natural and renewable raw materials rather than fossil-based systems, which meaningfully lowers the carbon footprint of every square foot we install.

  • Harvested bark regenerates on the living tree — no trees are felled.
  • Cork oak forests sequester carbon and are harvested on a nine-year cycle.
  • Naturally insulating, reducing heating demand.
  • Biodegradable at end of life.
  • Low VOC water-based finishes available.

Maintenance

Keeping it looking new

Dry dust mop regularly to remove grit before it abrades the surface.
Wet clean with a neutral pH detergent and clean water; avoid aggressive solvents.
Use walk-off matting at entrances to keep sand and de-icing salt off the floor.
Protect furniture legs with soft glides and use wide-wheel casters.
Periodic recoat or polish restores gloss without removing the existing floor.
